As of April 2005 I am in the process of writing up the extensive experiences I had during the many weeks during 2004 that my mother was terminally ill in Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Buckinghamshire.

Initially these are principally for Dr Peter Fenwick, who is researching the field. Dr Fenwick is a President of the Scientific and Medical Network, a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and a founding member of the Esoteric Group of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

My experiences far exceed any others I have heard of in number and length and, possibly, depth and detail as well. A better assessment will have to await a written version being sent to Peter Fenwick.

With my mother-in-law there was only the faintest experience; with my father there was far more. Those with my mother-in-law are described below, those with my father on a separate page.

The experiences with my mother made even those with my father pale, almost, into insignificance by comparison.

A version of last years experiences will be placed on one of my Web Sites, most likely this one, in due course. However, I will have to edit, reword it for the sake of some of those involved, at least for the time being.

Suffice it to say, for the moment, that I knew she was not going immediately, was told enough to, more or less, know it would be a long process and to know why, the why being confirmed about halfway through and emphasised forty-eight hours before she passed over.

Pre-death experiences are events perceived in the hours, days, weeks, months, before someone passes over. They are the experiences not just of the person passing over but those with them as well.

Note that I use the term “pass over” and not “pass away”. That is because there is no away; it is a change, not an end. Birth is the beginning of a physical life, death is the end of a physical life, but that is only in terms of the physical body, the representation of a person in the physical world.

What we call death is emphatically not the end of the person, no more than an actor removing makeup and costume is the end of the actor, only the character.

Admittedly I have an advantage in that I sense far more than just the physical world, though I am certainly not alone in that.

When we visited my mother-in-law in Colchester hospital in the early 1990s, it was only a few hours before she passed over. However, all I sensed then was an inverted cone of light and other energy, though it was very indistinct.

When my father passed over in May 2000 there was for more to it from my point of view.

The Pre-Death Experiences with my Father Page is a rewritten version of what has been on my old Web Sites for a few years.
